Teaching early readers the “sight words” was the puzzle. Flashcards and drilling were the prescribed cures. As this was not working out, Fernando wrote and illustrated the only single children’s books that has all the 100 sight words. This transformed the sight words learning experience from drilling with flashcards to a warm, cozy moment between a parent and a child cuddling to read a book together.
