MDC Faculty Showcase: New Type of Math Books

We need to embrace technology to make learning more engaging, because when students are engaged and interested, that’s where learning takes place. A special math learning guide has been prepared to provide insight into how to solve math problems using online engines and programs, such as Microsoft Mathematics, Wolfram Alpha, and Symbolab, as well as different types of apps for intelligent devices. Use this guide to learn different methods of solutions and step-by-step procedures, and check graphical representations and physical meanings of mathematical exercises will substantially help to develop your mathematical and analytical expertise.

Dr. Juan J. Prieto-Valdes is an accomplished educator committed to student success and the author of more than 100 academic papers and textbooks. In 2015 President Barack Obama granted Dr. Prieto-Valdes a Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award for his contribution to education and community. With the same devotion Dr. Prieto-Valdes applies to his work in science, he has produced a courageous artistic collection, an impressive array of paintings, sculptures, and writings that speak well of his quest for freedom. His memoirs, written like novels, deliver strong indictment against violation of civil and human rights. His art evokes ideas together with physical reality, symbolic and expressive art.
