The Koubek Center presents a special edition of Little Havana Social Club ¡en casa! for MBF’s Here In Florida program, bringing home the sounds and spirit of the Caribbean with a contemporary Miami touch! Rooted in tradition but also electric and cosmopolitan, this monthly concert series features artists such as reggae powerhouse Jahfé, singer-songwriter Leslie Cartaya and her modern take on classic Cuban songs with elements of jazz and funk; and rapper-spoken poetry artist Lyrical G, the first student-turned-professional mentor at the Guitars Over Guns program. Nicaraguan-born and Miami-raised artist Luis Valle, aka El Chan Guri, whose easily recognizable style blends influences from indigenous cultures and shamanism, contributes to the visual vocabulary of the series, which is hosted by the one-and-only Latin Grammy-nominated Mr. Pauer, DJ and producer. The program was filmed and edited by audiovisual director and producer Juan Enis, who has worked with top Spanish and Latin American artists including Alejandro Sanz, Miguel Bosé, David Bisbal, Enrique Bunbury, and La Oreja de Van Gogh, and has also directed documentaries for Spanish Television (TVE) and ARTE, the European Television Channel (French and German).
