Established in 1990, African American Read In is a national initiative designed to celebrate black history and culture. This year Miami Dade College’s North Campus in partnership with Miami Book Fair will host Andrew Aydin, coauthor with the late Congressman John Lewis and illustrator Nate Powell of the graphic memoir RUN: Book One about Lewis’s life. On Monday, February 7 at 6 p.m., Andrew Aydin will be joined in conversation with former Congressman Kendrick Meek. The conversation will be moderated by Miami Dade College’s Exec. Vice President and Provost Malou Harrison. This conversation will take place at North Campus’s Lehman Theater and be attended by local dignitaries, faculty, students and members of 5000 Role Model Students. Miami Book Fair is providing copies of RUN to be distributed free for students and faculty.
