Wade, Dwyane

Former Miami Heat legend Dwyane Wade, New York Times bestselling author of A Father First: How My Life Became Bigger Than Basketball and co-author of the children’s book Shady Baby, is a three-time NBA champion, 13-time All-Star, businessman, TV analyst, producer, activist, and philanthropist. He is also the father of five children: Zaire, Zaya, Xavier, Kaavia James, and his nephew, Dahveon. In Dwyane (William Morrow), Wade offers a photographic memoir told through more than 200 never-before-seen images from Bob Metelus, who has been documenting Wade’s career for more than a decade. Its pages take readers from his challenging upbringing on the South Side of Chicago to his extraordinary NBA career and points in between, including his relationship with his wife, actor Gabrielle Union; his dedication to his children and experiences as a father; and his varied interests off the court, from fashion to winemaking to LGBTQ+ advocacy.

CHRIS BOSH fell in love with basketball at an early age and earned the prestigious “Mr. Basketball” title while still at Lincoln High School in Dallas, Texas. A McDonald’s All-American, Bosh was selected fourth overall by the Toronto Raptors after one year attending Georgia Tech. In March 2019, Bosh’s #1 jersey was officially retired for the Miami Heat. In addition to his basketball career, in 2010 he founded Team Tomorrow as a community-uplift organization. Bosh regularly speaks to youths about the benefits of reading, coding, and leadership. Bosh, his wife, Adrienne, and their five children reside in Austin, Texas.
