White, Kimberly

Kimberly White serves as the youth services coordinator for Broward County Library’s community engagement team, a position she has held since June of 2017. As part of the team, she believes in the power of libraries as an essential component of a vibrant community. White began her career as an elementary school teacher in New London, Connecticut, where she first started to see how vital it was to connect emerging and reluctant readers with the books they truly loved. Upon completion of her master’s degree in library science, she worked with an academic imprint of Gale Cengage and discovered the joys of archives and primary source materials. In 2010, White began working as a youth services librarian in suburban and urban public libraries, and since then has enjoyed creating connections between libraries, families, and community organizations.
