Keith Knight

Keith Knight is an American cartoonist and musician known for his comic strips The K Chronicles, which was launched in the early ’90s; (Th)ink, and the syndicated daily strip The Knight Life. Knight’s cartoons have appeared in publications such as The Washington Post, San Francisco Chronicle, MAD Magazine and the Daily Kos. He is the received Comic-Con International’s Inkpot Award for achievement in his field and a 2015 NAACP History Maker Award for his comic strip slideshow on police brutality. “It’s weird to see things that I’ve drawn as comics years before come true,” he said then in an interview with The Washington Post. In RED, WHITE, BLACK AND BLUE: Highlighting America’s Racial Illiteracy (XXX) Knight offers a presentation combining comics, storytelling, statistics and facts. He makes the case that America’s biggest problem is its inability to have a frank and honest discussion about race. And if it wants to be the country it aspires to, it needs to come to terms with its ugly history.
