Jen Karetnick

Jen Karetnick is the author of three previous full-length poetry collections: Brie Season; American Sentencing; and The Treasures That Prevail. She is also the author of five poetry chapbooks including The Crossing Over; and Prayer of Confession. In addition, she is the editor of two anthologies of Florida poets and writers. Karetnick is the dining critic for MIAMI Magazine and freelances as a food-travel-lifestyle journalist. Her work has appeared in many publications throughout the years including The Atlantic.com, Forbes, and Miami Herald. In The Burning Where Breath Used to Be (David Roberts Books) Karetnick draws from many sources. Her poems might include scientific terms, and emojis or then remind the reader of the music in words. Nothing fails to be fuel for her fires.
