The Children’s Trust

The Children’s Trust is a special taxing district in Miami-Dade County that funds programs, initiatives and advocates on behalf of all the children in the county. Founded in 2002, The Children’s Trust is dedicated to improving the lives of those children by supporting a variety of different providers who serve children and families. Among the services The Trust supports are early learning, summer and after-school programming, and programs who serve troubled youth and those with disabilities. The Trust also has its own initiatives like The Children’s Trust Book Club and Parent Club that provides direct services to children and youth.

The Children’s Trust Book Club mails out free children’s books every month to all registered Miami-Dade children from birth to their 5th birthday. The books are sent in English or Spanish along with a guide for parents with activities, information and suggestions about how to share the book with children.
